2007 -2008 Goals for the PTA Board of Directors

1. Health and Safety (H&S) (Ritter)

  • Organize containers
  • Implement ConnectEd system
  • Evaluate use of lanyards for Emergency backpacks

2. Pink Section, Community Page, Backpack Mail (Henn)

  • Reduce paper, become more techno-efficient
  • Investigate publishing more documents in Spanish


3. Update Neil Cummins Parent Handbook (Henn, Clark)


4. Membership (Caindec)

  • Establish online membership capability through Paypal
  • Determine how to make members feel more connected
  • Prepare for OMDR (Online Membership Data Recording)
  • Move toward a less competitive campaign

5. Determine how to utilize Powerschool more effectively. (Mowbray)


6. Lunch Program (Anderson, Guthrie)

  • Evaluate success of Good Earth program
  • Automate lunch orders, payment, and confirmation process
  • Streamline paperwork sent to district
  • Assess indirect cost implications

7. Create another “Who’s Who?” document in concert with CMLSF (Wade)


8. Write “Board Basics” document for new board members (Guthrie)


9. Research Hands-On community service options. (Caindec)


10. Evaluate content of PTA website (Anderson, Guthrie)


11. Ensure that only about $5,000 - $10,000 rolls over to next year’s budget. (Trunko)

  • Monitor teacher spending

12. Investigate grants available through PTA Toolkit such as Parent Ed, Campus Improvement –which could be alternatives to current fundraising - (Christman)


13. Continue efforts to “green” the campus (Christman)

  • Have each VP review their responsibilities and see where we can go can green(er)

14. Develop and Sponsor First-Annual Neil Cummins Children’s Art Show (Pierpont)

  • Work with YIA teacher to develop concept
  • Recruit Volunteer to plan and oversee event
